A spicy, flavorful twist on our popular Blue Cornbread Mix! Inspired by the summer’s harvest of fresh jalapenos on the farm, we’ve started adding a bit of a kick to our cornbread.
Just like with the original Blue Cornbread Mix, we grind the corn in small batches to ensure our products are made from the freshest, most nutritious ingredients possible. This wholesome recipe will redefine what you expect from a traditional store-bought cornbread mix.
In addition to having a beautiful deep blue hue, blue corn is easier to digest, has about 20% more protein, and a lower glycemic index than yellow corn. Its deep blue color is due to anthocyanin, the same flavonoid that gives blueberries their color. This means blue corn’s antioxidant properties can potentially help reduce the growth of cancer cells, improve memory, protect against diabetes, reduce inflammation, and lower cholesterol.
Price reflects a case of 6 mixes. Each mix creates enough batter needed to fill a 9 inch baking pan or a standard muffin pan. Just add milk, butter, and an egg. Best if used within 12 months.
